74 characters, not including echo fighters.
During the final Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Nintendo Direct, Director Masahiro Sakurai confirmed that after today’s presentation, there will be no more full characters announced for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, at least at launch.
This will bring the total character count of fighters to 74, not including echo fighters, like the recently announced Ken, in which more may be revealed.
Incineroar, from Pokemon Sun and Moon, was the final character revealed.
As of this writing, there is no word if and what Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s DLC plan is and if we can expect that roster to grow.
