Niantic has announced Pokemon Go’s 2018 holiday event.

In a post on Pokemon Go’s official site, Niantic revealed that the event will run from December 18 to January 2 and include rewards in various stages. From December 18 to 22, players will earn double Candy, then double catch Stardust from December 22 to 26, and double XP from December 26 to 30.

Finally, from December 30 to January 2, incubators will hatch eggs twice as quickly. During the whole event, players will also receive one free single-use egg incubator per day for spinning PokeStops. The event will also bring back seasonal Pokemon Delibird as well as Pikachu wearing a Santa hat, plus new Delibird-themed clothing items will be added to the in-game shop.

Niantic also revealed that certain Pokemon will be more likely to spawn in the wild or hatch from 7KM eggs obtained from gifts. Smoochum and Azurill are among the Pokemon more likely to hatch, as well as Munchlax, the baby form of Snorlax who was previously not available in Pokemon Go.

In the wild, Jynx, Sneasel, Swinub, Snorunt, and Spheal are more likely to spawn, as well as Snover, a Pokemon being added to Go for the first time with this event. While Niantic didn’t specifically announce any additional new Pokemon, a promotional image for the event (seen above) features Snover as well as Croagunk, Chingling, Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf, which have all not yet been added to the game.

Pokemon Go added the first Generation 4 Pokemon back in October, with a second wave during the Halloween event. Earlier this week, Pokemon Go added its long-awaited PVP feature.
