Epic Games has rolled out another update for Fortnite. Content update 10.20 is now live on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices, and it adds yet another new item to the battle royale game, and brings back a familiar location from a past season. Read on for the patch notes.
This week’s addition to the weapon pool is the Zapper Trap, a new Epic-rarity throwable item that turns both sides of a wall into an electrified trap. The item normally drops in stacks of two and can be found as floor loot or in chests, vending machines, supply drops, or supply llamas. However, Epic has temporarily disabled the Zapper Trap while it investigates an issue, so you can’t currently find it in the game.
In addition to the Zapper Trap, this week’s content update brings back the floating island from Season 6, and this time it’s carrying the old motel that was eventually replaced by the Block. Just as it has in the past, the island is floating slowly around the map, and it has a low-gravity vortex to allow you to access it.
Fortnite’s Battle Royale mode isn’t the only one to receive new content this week. Epic has added new Prison and Flush Factory prefabs to Fortnite Creative, while Save the World gets the Hot Mix Pistol and a new weekly quest. You can read all of the other changes to Fortnite: Battle Royale below, while the full patch notes can be found on Epic’s website.
Fortnite’s Borderlands 3 crossover is still underway. The event runs until September 10, so you have until then to complete the game’s limited-time Borderlands challenges, which include searching for Vault Symbols and finding Claptrap’s missing eye. You can find maps and guides for those and other missions from this season in our complete Fortnite Season 10 challenges roundup.
