Banjo and Kazooie, the bear and bird pals created by Rare, will be playable in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate on Wednesday, Sept. 4, Nintendo announced during a Nintendo Direct presentation.

They will comprise the third installment of downloadable content for Smash Ultimate, following the addition of Joker from Persona in April and the Hero from Dragon Quest in July. As with the previous two characters, Banjo and Kazooie will be released as part of a “Challenger Pack,” a bundle of DLC that includes the fighters in question along with a new stage and a selection of music.

In the case of Challenger Pack 3, Banjo and Kazooie will come with a Smash Bros. stage inspired by Spiral Mountain, the setting of the original Banjo-Kazooie. The DLC pack will also feature a list of songs that includes a remix by series composer Grant Kirkhope.

The Banjo-Kazooie add-on will be available at no additional cost to owners of Smash Ultimate’s $24.99 Fighters Pass — it includes all five Challenger Packs — and it will be sold on its own for $5.99. Nintendo announced Banjo-Kazooie for Smash Ultimate back at E3.
