Death Stranding’s Bridge Baby will communicate through your controller

You don’t need the special BB controller, either

When you’re rocking Death Stranding’s Bridge Baby to sleep via your DualShock 4 controller, you’ll be able to hear its cries from the device itself.

In a tweet on Sept. 27, designer Hideo Kojima tweeted that BB’s voice will come through the DualShock 4 controller when playing Death Stranding. It sounds like a setting you’ll be able to turn off if you’re creeped out by your controller crying — we won’t judge you.

“By setting, you’ll be able to have BB’s voice coming out from this BBish controller,” Kojima tweeted alongside an impressive string of emojis, including a bunch of sea animals and a skull. The Death Stranding developer specifically called out this option with the special edition Death Stranding bundle controller, but a Sony representative told Polygon that it’s not limited to the bundle.

“It should technically work across all DS4 wireless controllers,” the representative said.

The translucent gold BB controller will just add to the immersion, of course. Players interested in the whole experience — unfortunately, the controller doesn’t come with a BB inside, as shown in the promo trailer — can purchase the Death Stranding bundle when it’s released on Nov. 8. The bundle comes with a matte white 1 TB PlayStation 4 Pro, the DualShock 4 controller, and a copy of Death Stranding on Blu-ray. The bundle will cost $399.
