Rockstar Games announces the long-awaited PC port
Red Dead Redemption 2 is coming to Windows PC on Nov. 5. Rockstar Games announced the Windows PC port of its massive, open-world Western adventure on Friday, confirming the long-awaited PC release that’s been rumored for nearly a year.
The PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2 will be available for pre-order via the Rockstar Games Launcher on Oct. 9. It will also be available for pre-order via the Epic Games Store, Greenman Gaming, the Humble Store, GameStop, and “additional digital retailers” starting Oct. 23. Rockstar said the PC version will also be sold on Steam, but not until December.
The PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2 will included “a range of graphical and technical enhancements for increased immersion,” Rockstar said in an official announcement.
Red Dead Redemption 2’s PC release was widely expected after Rockstar Games released its own launcher, where PC gamers can play titles like Grand Theft Auto 5, Bully, and L.A. Noire.
Rockstar released Red Dead Redemption 2 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in October 2018. That makes the turnaround for a PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2 considerably shorter than Rockstar’s previous game, Grand Theft Auto 5, which took more than 18 months to make the jump from consoles to PC.
