Venom 2 Gets New Release Date And Title

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused dozens of movies that were set for release this year to shift release date, and it’s no longer just films that were due to arrive in the summer. With the fall getting increasingly busy with rescheduled movies, some films are starting to move to 2021. The Venom sequel is the latest–the film was set to arrive in October this year, but won’t now be with us until June 2021.

As reported by Variety, the film will now hit theaters on June 25, 2021. In addition, it has got a new title. It was previously known simply as Venom 2, but the site states that it is now titled Venom: Let There Be Carnage.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage is the sequel to the 2018 hit Venom. It stars Tom Hardy as reporter Eddie Brock, who is host to the titular alien symbiote. Woody Harrelson will play the character of Cletus Kasady, who has been possessed by the equally dangerous Carnage. The cast also includes Michelle Williams, Stephen Graham, and Reid Scott, and the film is directed by Andy Serkis.
