We still don’t know much about the plot of the next installment of the Scream movie franchise. The directors have been revealed, while it’s also known that series screenwriter Kevin Williamson is returning as executive producer. Now, the first member of the cast has been confirmed.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, actor and professional wrestler David Arquette has signed on to reprise his role as Dewey Riley. Dewey was introduced as a sheriff’s deputy in the first movie and went on to become one of Sidney Prescott’s (Neve Campbell) closest friends and a constant target of Ghostface.
"I am thrilled to be playing Dewey again and to reunite with my Scream family, old and new," Arquette said in a statement. "Scream has been such a big part of my life, and for both the fans and myself, I look forward to honoring Wes Craven’s legacy."
