Zack Snyder borrows from his own Watchmen movie for “tactical” Batsuit

Crossing our fingers for 300-style Aquaman

Let’s get this out of the way first, this is Zach Snyder’s “tactical” Batsuit. It’s something else.

I don’t even know where to start, but maybe here, as our editor Susana Polo pointed out to me: They are all tactical Batsuits. They are designed for fighting, and to give Batman an advantage in any situation he is in. There is no Batsuit in existence that isn’t tactical. That is literally Batman’s entire thing.

Here is a larger version of the image. Does it look familiar?

We have seen this design before. In a Zach Snyder film. Here is the Nite Owl, from Watchmen.

It’s unknown whether Nite Owl’s suit was tactical. I’m guessing it was, because in that image he’s fighting, but it may be impossible to tell for sure.

I mean, c’mon.

I think it would be great if Zach Snyder tackled The Question next, don’t you think?

It’s not terrible to have a consistent visual style, especially when the second incarnation of Nite Owl in the Watchmen comics seemed to be so inspired by Batman. But it gets to be a bit circular: A film for a comic meant to deconstruct comics is seemingly used for inspiration in a film based on comics inspired by the visual look of the first film which was based on characters visually inspired by the subject of the second film.

Justice League will be released on Nov. 16, 2017.
