Assassin’s Creed, The Crew and South Park, too
Far Cry 5 is in development and is scheduled to be released before April 2018, publisher Ubisoft announced today.
It is one of four games from major Ubisoft franchises that are slated to launch in the company’s 2017-18 fiscal year, which ends March 31, 2018. The other three titles are an Assassin’s Creed game, South Park: The Fractured But Whole and The Crew 2, the company said today.
The Far Cry announcement came on the series’ official Twitter account, with a tweet pointing fans to subscribe to Ubisoft’s U.S. YouTube channel for “more updates” on “new Far Cry adventures.” The tweet also included an image with a very basic Far Cry 5 logo:

Far Cry 5 will be the first Far Cry game since the Stone Age-based Far Cry Primal, which was released in February 2016. The most recent “proper” entry in the franchise was 2014’s Far Cry 4.
