Ubisoft has announced The Crew 2, a sequel to the open-world racing game it released in 2014. The announcement was made during just prior to Ubisoft’s latest earning’s call.
As of yet, further details for the game have not been announced. However, the game’s official forum features a logo along with the tag line "Beyond the road."
In November 2016 Ubisoft said The Crew had 10 million registered players, and it was highlighted as a key title in its games-as-a-service strategy, alongside Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Siege.
The Crew received a score of 5/10 in GameSpot’s review. Critic Peter Brown said, "When The Crew puts you into races with good AI, and you get to race through interesting and varied environments, you get the feeling that you’re playing a good game." However, he also noted issues with network connectivity.
Since its initial launch, The Crew has received a number of updates, including an expansion called Calling All Units.
