The All Terrain Kart, or ATK, is one of the more exciting details about the just-released season five of Fortnite. And it looks like the new vehicle is going to reward teamwork.
“The All Terrain Kart has room for your entire squad,” the Fortnite team wrote in the game’s official patch notes. You’ll get a speed boost from drifting, and players can use the roof of the vehicle as a bounce pad. Players will have to time their jumps to get over bigger obstacles, however.
“Work together as rear passengers to leap over obstacles with the All Terrain Kart (ATK). Lean back and release at the same time for a higher jump,” the team’s description states. “Lean back by holding S on keyboards or holding back on the thumbstick for controllers.”
This is going to change things in a big way, especially once talented teams start mastering the art of working together on their jumps. We’ll have more details about the ATK, along with a hands-on report on how well, or poorly, it drives, once the servers are online.
